The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) is expected to discuss the reconfiguration of the tripartite alliance at its central committee meeting.
Some people are even talking about whether or not Cosatu must pull out of the alliance.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
The ANC's alliance partners have complained about being side-lined in policy decision-making, reports EWN Clement Manyathela.
The central committee meeting is being held under the theme ‘Unity and Cohesion of Cosatu’.
Manyathela says the trade union federation will use the meeting to review the resolutions which were agreed upon at the 12th National Congress in 2015.
Cosatu will also review the progress made on several policies and campaigns including the minimum wage, National Health Insurance (NHI) and the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
They are also going to review some of the campaign that they resolved they would come up with.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
Meanwhile, affiliate National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has showed signs that delegates are not happy with Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini.
