Angolan government says president is in good health

The Angolan government has confirmed this week that President Jose Eduardo dos Santos is in Spain for medical treatment.

While there is speculation that he has suffered a stroke, officials say he is in good health.

He is expected to return home soon.

Eyewitness News (EWN) correspondent JJ Cornish gives more details.

In 2013 he was out for some time for treatment in Portugal and that was understood to have been for cancer but Angolan officials denied it.

This time he has been out since the beginning of the month in fact, there is word that he has had a stroke but it is being denied.. they say he is fine but having medical treatment.
