With all the recent reports of children being abducted and killed, CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies speaks to parenting expert Nikki Bush about how parents can keep their children safe.
She says parents need to have conversations with their children about what is going on the world around them from a young age. Common sense still applies, she says.

Bush says parents who drop off their children at shopping malls or play dates without supervision are asking for trouble.

She says it is not only on the streets that children can be taken advantage of but also online. Children can be lured to meeting people that they have met online and parents need to have that conversation, says Bush.
