SA Rugby has delivered a bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup at World Rugby headquarters in Ireland on Tuesday.
EWN sports reporter, Carl Lewis says there are a few things in our favour and that the CEO of SA Rugby, Jurie Roux believes South Africa is capable of delivering the most profitable World Cup.
Thanks to the 2010 World Cup, SA Rugby also believes that we have the infrastructure to host an event of this magnitude.
They said that South Africa can host a more cost efficient World Cup than both Ireland and France and offer the best travel experience to rugby fans.
I think SA Rugby is very confident. Unfortunately one of the key consideration for world rugby is terrorism which is currently happening in Europe.— Carl Lewis, EWN Sports Reporter
In 2023 it will be 30 years since Rugby World Cup was hosted in Africa. South Africa was the main host in 1995.
