John Maytham chats with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe on his new movie gig

Daniel Radcliffe and Joshua McGuire star in the 50-year-old tale of 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead'.

Set against the backdrop of Hamlet, two hapless minor characters, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, take centre stage.

As the young double act stumble their way in and out of the action of Shakespeare’s iconic drama, they become increasingly out of their depth as their version of the story unfolds.

CapeTalk host, John Maytham caught up with the pair and spoke to them about the production.

The production deals with universal themes that don't date as such as life, death, identity, fate and chance. I was confident it would work.

Daniel Radcliffe, English actor

I don't think people are used to seeing a play like this. It sort of bastardises Shakespeare in a bold way.
