"There must be a level of responsibility in how these big leaks are managed"

News24 investigative reporter and author of the Republic of Gupta Pieter-Louis Myburgh chats to John Maytham about the infamous family and the emails which he believes are not yet at an end.

Will the revelations make a difference?

We've seen so many Gupta related revelations involving the President...and at this stage the individual in question sitting in the Union Buildings is still occupying that position, so one wonders what would it take? How profound does such information need to be in order for such dramatic change to be effected?

Pieter-Louis Myburgh, News 24 Journalist

Myburgh highlights some of the most shocking revelations.

He pegs the information leaked about mining minister Mosebenzi Zwane being wined and dined and put up in luxury hotels in Dubai on the Gupta's account during the time the family was wrestling the control of the Optimum coal mine from Glencore with Zwane's help as one of the most damaging.

We certainly have a large trove of documents.

Pieter-Louis Myburgh, News 24 Journalist

He acknowledges that media houses with this information need be responsible about when and how they release documents.

There has to be a level of responsibility employed in the way in which these big leaks are managed.
