Nelson Mandela Foundation denounces state capture and SA's leaders

The Nelson Mandela Foundation says mounting proof of what it says is an 'orchestrated effort to destabilize South Africa, has put the country in a vulnerable position.

On Wednesday the foundation reiterated calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down.

Addressing a briefing on the state of the country, the board of trustees said it's no surprise that South Africa has leaders who don't care about the Constitution or its vision.

Academic and chairperson of the foundation, Professor Njabulo Ndebele spoke to Xolani Gwala.

The fact that through what we have heard to be a shadow state has developed, that more and more evidence is coming out to prove the existence of a well orchestrated effort to destabilise our country and compromise its sovereignty by handing over important national assets and decisions to people who were never elected by the South African population, puts the state in a vulnerable position where it is captured by interests that have nothing to do with the future of South Africa.
