It is raining for Zuma and it is not blessings - Karima Brown

Political analyst Karima Brown says the nearly 200 000 emails in the hands of amaBhungane and Scorpio will overshadow South Africa's political environment.

Brown explains how the emails reveal the extent of the relationship that Brian Molefe and Eksom's Ben Ngubane has with the Gupta family, going as far back as the Tegeta deal.

She also talks about another amaBhungane and Scorpio investigation which shows that President Jacob Zuma's son serves as a key channel for influence on official decision-making, including his father’s.

In any other democracy, an administration ought not to survive this level of detail because what it explains, for example, some of he emails linking Dr Ben Ngubane to the Guptas around what is happening in Central African Republic, is incredibly damning.

Karima Brown, Political analyst

What is clear from these emails is that none of these individuals should be anywhere near state owned entities or even private companies fro that matter.

Karima Brown, Political analyst

This is going to overshadow the political environment in the country, and any kind of attempt by President Jacob Zuma and those close to him, particularity his son who features everywhere as the President's bag man.
