Sowetan report links Minister Dlodlo and controversial Fana Hlongwane

While the Gupta family's Sahara Computers is believed to have secured Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo's stay at a luxury hotel in Dubai in 2015, controversial businessman Fana Hlongwane is said to have settled her hotel bills.

On Monday , the Sowetan published a story saying invoices confirm that Dlodlo's stay at The Oberoi Hotel was booked for by Sahara Computers before being settled by Hlongwane. The invoice includes spa massages, room service, accommodation and car hire.

Dlodlo said however the arrangement was between her and Hlongwane and that she has known him since childhood.

Hlongwane has attracted much controversy over the years as a key figure in the arms deal and allegedly organised a meeting between former Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and the Gupta's in which he claims he was offered a position as finance minister.

Karima Brown has more.

What is interesting about this is of course the fact that we are beginning to see how the Gupta's relate to minister's in President Jacob Zuma's cabinet when important decisions are being made around procurement and tenders.
