SA gets its first WhatsApp drama series

A new drama series will now be published on WhatsApp. It’s going to be called Uk’shona Kwelanga and will allow people to follow characters from a particular family through their trials and tribulations.

Bongi Ndaba, the series writer says the drama will be told through images and audio.

The pictures will have a caption explaining what is happening.

Ndaba says the series was financially supported by financial services group, Sanlam.

She says Sanlam chose WhatsApp because it is a medium most of its targeted audience is an ideal opportunity to tell stories in a different manner.
