DA to approach Pretoria High Court in Molefe’s Eskom battle

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it will approach the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday to prohibit former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe from returning to the power utility, pending the outcome of his Labour Court application.

This follows an urgent application by the DA and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to block his return after he was reinstated by the board.

Former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe has confirmed on Monday morning that he wants to challenge the latest decision to rescind his reinstatement in the labour court.

Cape Talk’s John Maytham spoke to EWN reporter Lindsay Dentlinger who attended the DA briefing.

For now the DA is not scrapping their court application completely because they will wait to see what is going to happen at the labour court.
