The meeting is led by the organisation chairperson, councilor Parks Tau who is a leader of the ANC in the City of Joburg. He’s also a former mayor of the city.

Midday Report host Stephen Grootes spoke to Tau about the meeting. He says it is focusing on their contribution as local government to the global development agenda and the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP).

Cities plan is important with regard to implementing climate change mitigation measures and cities are the most affected.
