The South African Local Government Association (Salga) has organised its first meeting of the council mayors in the Cape Town’s council chamber.
The meeting is led by the organisation chairperson, councilor Parks Tau who is a leader of the ANC in the City of Joburg. He’s also a former mayor of the city.
Midday Report host Stephen Grootes spoke to Tau about the meeting. He says it is focusing on their contribution as local government to the global development agenda and the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP).
