The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises says its waiting for documents from Eskom to begin its full scale inquiry.

The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises is set to commence a full scale parliamentary inquiry into Eskom as requested by the Democratic Alliance.

Among other matters that would be investigated, is the reappointment of Brian Molefe as the power utility's CEO, his golden handshake, as well as the 2015 Dentons investigation.

Earlier this month, Public Enterprises Minister, Lynne Brown, instructed the utility's board to rescind Molefe’s reappointment as the chief executive.

Acting chair of the committee Zukiswa Rantho says it’s taking legal advice to determine how to force Eskom to submit documents and abide by its investigation.

We are going to have a committee meting on Wednesday. 21 June, we are going to start on processes going forward.

Remember we were waiting for information from Eskom that we haven't received yet that we asked for on the 23rd of May.

It is not only about Brian Molefe, it is about the governance in Eskom. I do not want to lie to you, they did not respond to anything. We are going to use legal advisers in parliament to tell us what to do next. We are going to take them on on legal grounds if they do not give us the information.
