Nicole Levingstein, one of Sydney Frankel's accusers says the ruling helps SA's sexual abuse survivors in their fight for justice.

One of the applicants who brought the case against the late philanthropist stock broker Sidney Frankel says she is grateful and humbled by the court victory.

Nicole Levingstein is among a group of eight people who accused Frankel of sexually abusing them decades ago.

Frankel died earlier this year but group of women went to court to change the law of prescription around sexual assault.

The High Court has ruled that the 20-year prescription bar on sexual offences will be lifted and Levingstein explains that it will help other sexual abuse survivors in their fight for justice.

I'm feeling incredibly good inside. I am really pleased that I embarked on this all those years ago...We finally have the result that the country needs.

Nicole Levingstein, Frankel 8 Applicant

We will always have this victory... We initially felt robbed, but this is something that's made up for all of that.

The court has ordered that the law be sent to Parliament for a period of 18 months to be amended.

Meanwhile, Ian Levitt, lawyer representing the Frankel eight, explains why he decided to pursue the case and responded to the victorious ruling.
