Transport Minister Joe Maswaganyi says he welcomes any investigations at Prasa saying he will not be opposing any probe into state owned entities (SOE's).
The Minister made the comments during a briefing on Friday on the quarterly performances of the entities, 12 of which report to the Transport Department.
EWN reporter Barry Bateman says Maswaganyi raised concern that the Prasa board no longer form a quorum with only four members left as opposed to 11.
Bateman says Maswaganyi did not want to comment further about the state of the board.
He said he is well aware of the investigation and is willing to step back and allow these matters to unfold whether in the boardroom or in the court of law.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
The Minister didn't want to comment much on Acsa saying there are processes underway at Acsa.
A board meeting that was due to take palce on Tuesday was cancelled after the EFF served Maswaganyi with a letter to remove the Acsa board of directors saying they are captured by the Gupta family.
The general perception that we getting from the minister and delegates is that the SOEs under the transport portfolio are doing fairly well considering the current economic climate.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
