"Security cluster coming under the influence of this shadowy group of people"

The Sunday Times has reported about leaked documents, detailing sensitive information on some of South Africa’s top banking bosses, their family members, a former cabinet minister and a rival in a lucrative tender deal.

The paper revealed on Sunday that the family has been at the forefront of an attack on South African banks after many closed the Gupta’s accounts citing suspicions of money laundering.

Economic Freedom Fighter's leader Julius Malema and Trevor Manuel are among the individuals who were allegedly spied on. CEO Maria Ramos confirmed all the travel dates plus her ID number as noted in the spreadsheet.

Political analyst Karima Brown shares details on this and other political headlines.

Most serious of course is the EFF's claim that they believe that this amounts to attempts on the life of the leader of the EFF, Julius Malema.

People need to be reminded that state capture doesn't just relate to state owned enterprises, it also really talks very much to the question of the security cluster coming under the influence of this shadowy group of people. And, of course, we haven't heard a word from the state security minister whose agency seems to be directly implicated.
