Head of Communications at South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), Paseka Letsatsi, says Sassa bank cards are going to continue working even after the expiry date.
This follows concern and inquiries from beneficiaries wanting to know when Sassa planned to issue new cards as current cards are expiring in December 2017.
Letsatsi says they have engaged with all stakeholders to ensure that beneficiaries are not disadvantaged.
He has distanced Sassa from misleading text messages making the rounds asking beneficiaries to come and renew their Sassa cards. He says it is a hoax.
We are appealing to everybody to help us reassure our beneficiaries that the life span of the cards is not ending in December.— Paseka Letsatsi, Head of communication at South African Social Security Agency
