Cheers, smiles and excitement is what popular weekend breakfast host Phemelo Motene received when she visited Ebenezer psychiatric home. Their mission wasn't just to spread some love, with them came a truckload of much-needed groceries, courtesy of the Truck of Love with Spar!
A big thank you to 702 and Spar, you have made such a difference. We really appreciate it.— Brett Mandy , Personal Assistant at Ebenezer Psychiatric Home
The home is a community-based organisation which takes care of functionally mentally-ill adults between the ages of 23 and 55 years, who have been diagnosed as bipolar or sufferring from schizophrenia. They help severely psychiatric disabled persons who feel unworthy by helping them overcome their illness. Ebeneezer also assist their residents by rehabilitating and integrating them back into society by teaching them skills such as jewellery making, woodwork and decoupage; which often helps as an income stream.
