PP's motive is to take the heat off JZ and the Gupta's - Eusebius

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane found last week that the Reserve Bank failed to protect the public interest by bailing out Bankorp during the apartheid era and then did not recover the funds after Absa took over.

Mkhwebane went as far as spelling out the changes that should be made to the Constitution.

Eusebius engages with a listener on what her possible motives are for making this "unlawful recommendation". Eusebius gives his thoughts on the "weird, unlawful, out of the blue proposal" that the Constitutional should be changed, something that has elicited widespread criticism that the PP is over-reaching her powers.

I think she is instructed from somewhere, just my gut feeling, to distract from the real issues. There are fundamental reasons why this economy is not growing in a way that is conducive to dealing with the triple scourge of poverty, inequality and unemployment. It is because of the combination of missed opportunities and sheer looting by the State.

For the PP her public servants may be best served taking the heat of the Gupta's, off JZ (Jacob Zuma), off the economic cluster and focus it on a bunch of Central Bankers -- that's the reason, I think, she came up with this unlawful recommendation.
