Police have fired more stun grenades and teargas to disperse the angry protesters in Imizamo Yethu.
Demonstrations have entered a third day, causing chaos in Hout Bay.
Residents are angry over the slow pace of redevelopment in the area following a destructive fire in March.
A man has been hospitalised after he was shot during violent protests on Monday morning, reports EWN's Shamiela Fisher.
Authorities say the man was shot in the chest and is in a critical but stable condition.
It is unclear whether the man was shot by a rubber bullet or live ammunition.
Meanwhile, residents have vowed to continue protesting until Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille avails herself to address their concerns.
However De Lille says she will meet with residents once they suspend their protest.
City officials have been busy with the massive re-blocking plan after the devastating fire hit three months ago.
