Separating truth from fiction on how and when to use cannabis oil

Last week The Azania Mosaka show received an email from a listener who said he had used some of his friends cannabis oil to help him sleep. The listener expressed how great he responded to the oil as well as how it improved his troublesome sleeping patterns. His concern however was legalisation and whether or not he could purchase the oil himself and where to buy it.

Dr Joey Gouws, Registrar of Medicines at Medicines Control Council joined Azania Mosaka to talk listeners through the guidelines and laws around cannabis use for medical use.

In April, The Western Cape High Court ruled that it is an infringement to ban the use and cultivation of dagga by adults in private homes.

Gouws says to date, the use, possession and purchasing of cannabis is an illegal activity. Only 0.1 percent is legal.
