[LISTEN] Theologian slams religion as a "lucrative business"

An alleged claim made by Prophet Mboro has sparked yet another debate on the dangers and commercialization of religion.

The controversial pastor is said to have recited how he had gone to hell to rid the world of its evils by killing Lucifer in a Facebook post.

He has however slammed these reports and told Times Live the rumors are a smear campaign. He says his account was hacked.

Stephen Grootes spoke to theologian, Denise Ackerman on this and the commercialization of religion.

Jesus Christ was somebody who did not own property or extort money from people, it is just preposterous when religion and people's fears come together.
