Meet Sango Ntsaluba, founder of South Africa’s first black-owned audit firm

We’re investing inbrilliant stuff! I love it!

Sango Ntsaluba

We won’t fund anybody who are doing five things at the same time.

Sango Ntsaluba

They don’t wear suits or comb their hair! They know everything! It’s their arrogance that I like.

Sango Ntsaluba

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Sango Ntsaluba for his weekly “ShapeShifter” feature.

Ntsaluba is the Chairperson of NMT Capital, a firm that invests in companies and assists them to grow sustainably.

He is also the founder of SizweNtsalubaGobodo.

SizweNtsalubaGobodo provides auditing, advisory and forensic services.

Ntsaluba – a chartered accountant – is also active in family business WZ Capital, a small business venture capital fund.

He has a passion for Black Economic Empowerment and giving back, especially to his community in rural Eastern Cape where he comes from.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and/or scroll down for more quotes from it).

The auditing profession teaches you to work hard.

Sango Ntsaluba

The hours auditors put in are crazy!

Sango Ntsaluba

You can never avoid doing business with Government. But you must have your parameters.

Sango Ntsaluba

You need regulatory certainty [in mining]… I don’t see the certainty.

Sango Ntsaluba

We [Government and the private sector] need each other.

Sango Ntsaluba

Why could parties not sit together [to draft the Mining Charter]?

Sango Ntsaluba

The whole economy relies on auditors.

Sango Ntsaluba

There must be a prospect for scalability [before we provide funding].

Sango Ntsaluba

It helps if they have secured one or two clients.

Sango Ntsaluba

I have a love for developmental finance!

Sango Ntsaluba

Acquisition of new knowledge is like honey!

Sango Ntsaluba

There is no substitute for education.

Sango Ntsaluba

I’m born here [in South Africa] and I’ll die here.

Sango Ntsaluba
