FoodForward SA partners with major food retailers and manufacturers to collect all their surplus food before it goes to waste and distribute to 600 NGOs nationally.
Managing director at FoodForward SA, Andy Du Plessis, says the 600 NGOs to which they provide food, in turn feed about 250 000 people daily.

All the food we get is free. The only cost we incur is to make sure that it is collected from the retailers to our warehouses and we make it is well within date and edible.— Andy Du Plessis, Managing Director at FoodForward SA
About 40% of FoodForward SA beneficiaries take care of children.
As their Mandela initiative, FoodForwardSA is encouraging all businesses and individuals to buy selected items from Pick n Pay nationwide and help feed those in need. This will be on the 14 - 16 July.
