Corruption Watch to push for investigations into McKinsey & Co

McKinsey, a global consultancy firm, has suspended its South African director claiming that he misrepresented the company in a deal with the controversial Gupta-linked Trillian Capital Partners and Eskom.

MD of Corruption Watch David Lewis says these law firms and auditing companies implicated in the corruption scandals have been strategically placed to act as the cut off between two corrupt parties but somehow end up implicating themselves in corruption as well.

He says the sacking of the director by McKinsey and Bell Pottinger is very interesting.

Advocate Geoff Budlender said there was enough evidence for him to be deeply concerned about the activities of Trillian after the company claimed that they knew in advance that Nhanhla Nene was going to be fired Finance Minister.

Lewis says McKinsey's refusal to cooperate with Budlender's investigation speaks volume.

The fact that they refused to participate says to me that their lawyers looked at it and said to them they could be possible trouble at the end of this.
