The Cape Town City Hall auditorium is going to be temporarily closed for extensive renovations, and won't be available from September 2017 to June 2018.
The Municipal Court on the ground floor will not be affected and will continue operations as per normal.
Stuart Diamond, Mayco member for assets and facilities for the City of Cape Town says the first phase of the renovation has been completed and will soon be rolling out the second phase of soon.

Diamond says they are looking to replace the seating, restoring the floor and repairing the front and back stages. He adds that they'll also be painting the auditorium as well as replace the ventilation system.
