Grieving Boksburg mom still searching for answers on twins' deaths, six years on

A Boksburg mother, who has been unable to bury one of her prematurely born twins for six years now, says she has been struggling to cope.

Honestly, I haven't been good, I'm not good at all.

Nonhlanhla Ndobe

In an EWN exclusive, Nonhlanhla Ndobe says she has been left to question whether her baby really did die or might still be alive somewhere.

Ndobe gave birth to twins at OR Tambo Memorial Hospital on the East Rand back in 2011.

She was told by hospital staff that both babies had died, but only ever given one body to bury.

Ndobe explains that one of the babies died immediately after birth in 2011, while the other was placed in an incubator.

She says that she was discharged the following morning but later got a call from the hospital, saying her other baby had also died.

According to Ndobe, only one of her babies was listed as dead on the hospital documents.

She says she only buried on of her twins and and no one has been interested in helping investigate and find answers.

I know for sure that [the one baby didn't make it] because I did bury her, but the other one I am not sure.

Nonhlanhla Ndobe

Whenever I go to the grave yard, it's sad for me.

Nonhlanhla Ndobe

She says she hasn't been able to find full closure and has had countless sleepless nights.

There is no end. I can't really explain it and don't know what's going on. I keep asking God for answers.

Nonhlanhla Ndobe

Ndobe described the cultural and emotional complexities she has faced over the past six years.

Take a listen to her explain her traumatic ordeal:
