DA accuses NPA boss of allowing South Africa to be looted

Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA), Mmusi Maimane has written to President Jacob Zuma requesting him to immediately suspend National Prosecuting Authority boss, Advocate Shaun Abrahams.

Maimane says Abrahams has watched as South Africa suffers from high levels of corruption.

I have laid charges against ministers implicated in the Gupta leak emails and he simply refuses to prosecute.

If we are going to have a functioning judicial system it is in all of our interests that we have a national director of public prosecutions who is impartial and does his job.

I have communication that has come from the police that the investigation is complete says Maimane. He adds that if the investigation was done, it is up to the NPA to investigate.
