You can soon own the world's first holographic phone

A high-end digital camera manufacturer RED, over in the US, has plans to release a multi-view holographic smartphone display.

In a blog post on the RED website, Jim Jannard, founder of the California-based company, explained that it is “multi-view (4-view) as compared to stereo 3D (2-view).

If you are into super, high-end smartphone and camera technology, then this phone is tailor made for you says Jan Vermeulen, a senior journalist at MyBroadband.co.za.

The brand itself has a reputation for making really high-end gear. They make the kind of cameras used to shoot movies.

You buy the components you want on your camera and then you construct it up to what you need it to do.

Vermeulen says it is too soon to purchase this gadget, adding that for now, it is just hype. The phone is priced at 1000 US dollars. He says we should expect the phone to officially be launched in the first few months of 2018.

I'm looking forward to the holographic display says Vermeulen.
