LEAD SA and The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) Centre for Leadership and Dialogue, are launching a series of critical conversations called Third Thursdays.
The conversations centre around a particular theme; July's dialogue will focus on food security, or more specifically: What is business' role in ensuring food security in South Africa?
Food security is one of the greatest challenges that has faced and continues to face the country. It is estimated that over 7 million people are currently food insecure.
This, coupled with the fact that the majority of South African households have weak purchasing power, are greatly dependent on social grants and government's poor support network for disaster management systems during natural disasters, creates for a worrisome picture.
Audiences are invited to join the conversation on the 20th July.
