SA Post office makes a positive turnaround

CEO of the Post Office, Mark Barnes says complaints to the entity have dropped from 2300 a week to under a 1 000.

He says that their international post has doubled in an encouraging manner and that their sorting centre at OR Tambo is experiencing high volumes of parcels.

Barnes says they are working on upgrading their technology at OR Tambo to ensure shorter delivery periods on international parcels.

He attributes attitude and culture as playing a big role in turning around what he calls a "big ship".

Several branches have closed shop since January because they were not able to pay rent for a couple of months but Barnes says they'll be no closing of branches anytime soon.

I think now our time of closing down branches is pretty much behind us.
