Gigaba hopes 14-point action plan will pick up the rand

Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba has called on business, labour and government to put their differences aside and work towards growing the country's economy.

He was speaking at the Thomson Reuters awards at the JSE in Sandton.

EWN reporter, Thando Kubheka was there. She says Gigaba revealed his 14-point action plan. Gigaba said his plan is to bolster South Africa's ailing economy.

He is under pressure to manage an economy that is under pressure.

Khubeka says Gigaba acknowledged how detrimental the Gupta leaks and state capture reports have been on South Africa's economy and investor confidence.
