Abriella Bredell (10) to take on the Robben Island swim

Abriella Bredell, 10, plans to be the youngest female to complete the Robben Island swim this December.

Bredell is currently preparing for this challenge and on Sunday swam 5 kilometers in cold, windy and rainy weather.

She spoke to CapeTalk's Africa Melane about Sunday's experience and her future preparations for the challenge.

Bredell is using the challenge to raise much-needed funds for the Red Cross Children's hospital.
