Chamber of mines is anti transformation - Num

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) head of transformation Luthando Brukwe says the halt to the implementation of the Mining Charter will indirectly inconvenience its members and employees.

The implementation of the Mining Charter has been suspended by Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane pending the Chamber of Commerce urgent court interdict.

Chamber of Mines says that the Charter will destroy investments and confidence in the sector.

From our view, we think the Minister has sufficiently consulted all stakeholders and we find there's no reason for Chamber of mines to take this matter to court.

Luthando Brukwe, Num Head of Transformation

We can only reach a conclusion that the chamber is anti transformation and doesn't want inclusive participatory economic system in the mining sector that is inclusive of the workers and employees.
