Some residents in the Western Cape and Northern Cape woke up to snow at the weekend and into Monday morning as parts of the country saw temperatures plummet below zero.
Snow was also spotted in the Eastern Cape.

Temperatures in Sutherland dropped to -9 degrees.

Forecaster Heuning Grobbler says this is fairly normal for this time of the year.
He says temperatures should begin to warm up again later in the week.
