Civic plan to free South Africa from the 'looters'

The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and Save SA will be convening a conference on this Mandela Day to forge the first steps towards reclaiming South Africa's future.

The conference, held at the Rhema Bible Church will be attended by veterans from the African National Congress (ANC), Members of Parliament from the ruling and opposition parties as well as about 400 delegates from some 100 civil society organisations.

Chris Vick, is a public relations professional and a member of the coordinating committee for the Conference For the Future of South Africa.

He says the agenda of the group is to protest the corruption of state owned companies and state capture and to restore integrity to the political, social and economic leadership of the country.

The glue that brings us together is to stop capture and roll back the impact its had on key elements of the state.

Vick says the attendees agree on why they have come together but have yet to discuss where to from here and how to compile a national plan of action that will serve the interests of South Africans.

If Parliamentarians see and feel 150 000 people outside the National Assembly on the 8th of August, they can't ignore that.

Vick says another strategy communicated and proposed is that of a national shutdown on the 7th of August, where business agrees to close shop. For example: between noon and two o'clock, to allow workers to demonstrate their objection to state capture while carrying South African flags.

There is so much evidence against the Gupta's yet not a single police has knocked of their Saxonwold home and office and said you need to account and explain the situation.
