#GuptaLeaks reveals BLF's Andile Mgxitama as role player in silencing the media

The latest leaked emails about the controversial Gupta family have revealed that Black First Land First leader Andile Mngxitama was instructed to question the funding of online publication, BizNews, in order to silence its critique of the Guptas.

EWN reporter, Barry Bateman says the leaked emails were from the so called media team group, where the Guptas and associates discussed various media strategies in order to counter critical reporting.

BizNews editor Alec Hogg was identified as a threat and the group discussed ways to silence him.

Bateman says the emails show how the Guptas engaged a UK based law firm to send a legal letter to Hogg, who promptly published the letter online.

From the email, it is not clear what Mngxitama did about the instruction given to him but Bateman says the Gupta owned New Age certainly did something.

What we know is that the New Age did pick up on it and sent questions to Hogg questioning him about his funding.

According to Bateman, Mngxitama denied any knowledge of the instruction.

He denied reports that the BLF organisation is being funded by the Guptas but now that he is linked to them he will surely seek their financial support.
