Democrats gunning for the very voters who put Trump into power - analyst

The Democratic Party have outlined a new battle plan to improve its hances of victory in the future.

They have pitched a new re-branding called "A better deal for all" which includes promises of a higher minimum wage and lower drug prices and is aimed at reclaiming the party’s populist mantle from President Trump.

International relations expert Professor John Stremlau says the Democrats are trying to mobilise their base in a positive way.

This has got to be a populist kind of counter to Trump but not in a negative sense.
