Smokers who do a CT scan of their lungs more likely to quit

For smokers who have tried and failed to quit, getting a sophisticated x-ray (CT scan) of your lungs could be the push they need. Xolani Gwala discussed the results of a study that looked at the effect of CT scans on smokers who have a high risk of developing lung cancer.

The study disputed the belief that a clean scan offers one a licence to smoke. Engaging with a scan apparently makes smokers more open to quitting.
