Ambassador Advisory's Refilwe Moloto tackles East Africa's local textile production being stifled by US imports.

Ambassador Advisory's Refilwe Moloto has been reading about Rwanda’s pushback against second-hand clothes being exported from the US and finds it quite an interesting policy conversation, with some potential implications for how exporters are doing business.

Moloto says the entire east African community through a lobby group called Secondary Materials & Recycled Textiles Association (SMART) have gone to the United States trade representative to complain about the development of the local textile industry being stifled.
