I don’t know about the Dept, but I can’t be captured - Deputy Minister Oliphant

Deputy Mineral Resources Minister Godfrey Oliphant says he is not always consulted by Minister Mosebenzi Zwane despite having a vast knowledge of the sector.

Zwane has been implicated in a number of alleged fraudulent contracts with the Gupta family.

Oliphant, however, says he himself is not involved in any state capture by the Guptas.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield played a clip from his colleague Xolani Gwala, who interviewed the deputy minister.

Listen to the clip in the audio below (and/or scroll down for quotes from it).

The Minister did not raise the matter of suspending licences with me… I just saw it in the papers.
