Eskom, Denel, Transnet, Guptas and Zuma's son in Parly inquiry sights

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises has decided to broaden the scope of the inquiry due to information received at a preliminary hearing on since Monday.

Initially, the focus of the inquiry was the appointment of Brain Molefe as CEO of Eskom but that has since changed.

Chair at Parliamentary Portfolio Committee On Public Enterprises, Zukiswa Rantho, says the committee is made up of multi-party member. This means decision decision made will not be that of a single party but all the parties combined.

We will try to manage the issues that are coming out. There will be people that will be called in from Transnet, Eskom and Denel to come and answer some questions to the portfolio committee.

Zukiswa Rantho, Chair at Parliamentary Portfolio Committee On Public Enterprises

According to Rantho, these people will be invited to appear before the committee and if they fail to do they will be subpoenaed.

Currently a decision to invite President Jacob Zuma has not been made by the committee but only that of the Gupta's and the President's son Duduzane Zuma.

As the portfolio Committee we will recommend to Parliament on what we have found and Parliament will take over.
