MiWay CEO Rene Otto met with the man behind a hoax email that falsely implicated the insurance company in racist practices.
In the fake email screenshot, black clients are referred to as 'baboons'.
Otto says that the 32-year-old man was upset by MiWay's failure to send records of their communication.
He said he was cross with us and he was upset with the repudiation of the claim and request that he made for the recording of the communication between us and him.— Rene Otto, MiWay CEO
He told me that we were never racists in anyway with our dealings with him.— Rene Otto, MiWay CEO
He's very sorry about what he did and never thought he would cause such a social media storm.— Rene Otto, MiWay CEO
I don't think its on our interest to take it ant further. We proved that it was a fake email and we got a proper apology from him.— Rene Otto, MiWay CEO
