The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says a task team charged with guiding the Hawks investigation into allegations of state capture will ensure the claims are thoroughly investigated.
There has been growing concern over the Gupta family and the nature of their relationship with President Jacob Zuma, as well as cabinet ministers.
The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) has laid criminal charges against two ministers for corruption.
The NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku says the team will be made up of a team of prosecutors.
That team has always been there, available to the Hawks, to assist them and engage them whenever they need assistance in terms of their investigations into so called state capture and related matters.— Luvuyo Mfaku, NPA spokesperson
