Soccer boss Khoza questions match carrying on after deadly stampede

Orlando Pirates Chair, Irvan Khoza says senior council will conduct an investigation following a deadly stampede at the FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday.

Two people died and a number of others were injured during the Soweto derby between Orlando pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

Khoza and Chief's chairman Kaizer Motaung have extended their condolences to the victim's families, during a press conference on Monday.

A separate investigation has been launched by football bodies Safa and Stadium Management South Africa into the sale of fraudulent tickets, as this may have contributed to the incident.

Khoza pleaded with the public and media to allow investigations to take place.
