It's reported that King Goodwill Zwelithini complained that the Zulu royal household remains one of the poorest in the country last week.

Ntuli explains that the role of traditional leaders is to look after the interests of their nation, which includes addressing issues such a land redistribution, cultural ceremonies and regional conflict.

He says the the budget of royal households is allocated according to size of their nationality, and adds that some royal households are subsidised by provincial government.

According to Ntuli, people in Kwazulu-Natal support the royal house and the Zulu monarch.
