[LISTEN] Mantashe slams Gungubele, says ANC will abide by August 8 decision

ANC Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe said members are not free agents who can talk as they like and do as they wish.

He was referring to ANC MP Mondli Gungubele, who along with other's in the party have called for Zuma to go. Mantashe said this matter was discussed in the two previous National Executive Committee's (NEC).

If they no longer have confidence in the ANC decision making, they have the right to step down from Parliament as well.

Gwede Mantashe, ANC Secretary General

Breakfast host, Xolani Gwala asked why disciplinary action wasn't taken against Zuma when he "disrespected the ANC" by referring to white monopoly capital after the NEC ruled that the term "monopoly capital" would be used.

Mantashe said this debate was ongoing as the control of management is still in the hands of whites.

On the issue of the mining sector shedding 80 000 jobs in the past 5 years and 20 000 more on the line, Mantashe said the sector needed leadership and that Mining Minister Mosebenzi Zwane cannot deal with the industry as if he is "fighting with his peers".

Listen here to Mantashe describe the state of management of SOEs and says Anoj Singh (Eskom CFO) must go...
