#GuptaLeaks links Lynne Brown's PA with controversial Gupta dealings

Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has asked her personal assistant, Kim Davids, to resign following allegations that she had dealings with the controversial Gupta family.

Davids was implicated in the latest Gupta email leaks.

Deputy Editor at Financial Mail, Sikonathi Mantshantsha, says Davids was a super PA who held extraordinary powers than just an ordinary PA.

Through her hard work she managed to occupy higher posts in government despite not having formal qualifications, says Mantshantsha.

According to Mantshahtsha, Davids did not even have a school leaving certificate.

She would have meetings with senior managers at Eskom, which falls under Lynne Browns department, instruct them to do XYZ and indeed she is the one who received, processed and finalised the appointments of board members.

According to Mantshantsha, Minister Lynne Brown seems to be suffering from amnesia because she initially said she didn't know anything about Brown Molefe's golden handshake and now she also didn't know about her own PA.

She keeps changing her mind just like that. She said she was happy with Kim Davids explanation for her Dubai excursion....she was there with her partner and the Guptas settled the account.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

Her explanation was that she paid her way through but she could not explain why the same itinerary was sent to the Guptas.

Now exactly two days after Lynne Brown said she was happy with her explanations, she has asked her to resign...
