Much work needed to clean up major metros - Maimane

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane says there has been progress in the management of the parties major metro's which, he says, were besieged by corruption and cadre deployment.

Thursday 3 August marks exactly a year since the opposition party took over key metro municipalities in Tshwane, Johannesburg and Nelson Mandela Bay from the African National Congress (ANC).

Maimane says his party still has a lot to do to clean up the metros.

Eyewitness News reporter, Clement Manyathela attended the briefing.

Maimane says it was all corruption in all three cities, there was cadre deployment and they are still working to change that.

What really concerns them and what they want to prioritise, is to manage the coalitions, to make sure that they are in agreement and in harmony with the coalition partners and of course this cooperation with the EFF.
