#NoConfidence: Bells to ring in Parly when ballots counted and votes tallied

EWN parliamentary reporter, Gaye Davis, explains how once a debate is concluded at the National Assembly, Speaker Baleka Mbete will explain the voting process to MPs.

Bells will ring and the doors of the Assembly Chamber will be locked to signal the start. My understanding is that there are two ballot boxes and four voting booths. Security officials will present control sheets with the names of MPs who will then collect their ballot papers which will be stamped, are not numbered and have no names.

MPs will then vote, "Yes", "No", or abstain and once voting is complete these boxes will be sealed.

The counting will start and this process is presided over by Mbete, overseen by representatives of the parties in the counting room as the votes are counted and audited.

Once the votes are signed off, bells will ring again and the results announced.
